Asim Kalyar worked as a Lecturer of Urdu Literature at Government College University, Lahore and is a collector of poetry books. He has an exclusive library of Urdu collections at his house in Lahore.
In December 2022 I had a chance to visit his library; he recollected some moments spent with Fahmida Riaz a few hours before she passed away.
