On the occasion of International Women's Day, the 7th Annual Ceremony of Recognition and Appreciation by the "Ataraf" magazine was held in the Jasmine Hall of the Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi. This year, the Honors Committee of "Ataraf" selected High Court's first female judge (Retired) Justice Majida Rizvi, the founder of the Food Science Department of Karachi University, Dr. Rashida Arif Tufail, Dr. Tahira A. Khan associated with Columbia University, Professor Dr. Parveen Mousa Mamun of Sindh University, Principal Dr. Elizabeth Niamat of Saint Joseph College Karachi, Hani Reza, Town Education Officer Karachi Central, for recognition and appreciation. Aradhya, a college lecturer who won two gold medals from Karachi University, was honored with the Ataraf Shield at the event. Prominent personalities of Karachi attended the ceremony. Ali Hassan Sajid performed the duties of organization. The students of Family Education Services Foundation's Deaf Reach Schools presented the national anthem in sign language. Lyari's women leader Hani Baloch, Mrs. Noorul Sabah Begum of Hyderabad, and Sister Clara, principal of Jesus & Mary Convent School also addressed the gathering.
